Lesson from Chicago
When we arrived in Chicago, it was extremely hot, with a heat index over 100˚F. I was traveling with a group of teachers and we had A LOT of luggage. We were staying at a hotel that sent a shuttle to the airport to pick us up. I felt so bad for the driver who had to load all of our luggage, which was heavy, and so I began to help him. At the end of our group, a very nice gentleman joined on as he was going to the same hotel. So, I loaded his bag too.
The gentleman sat down beside me and we had a nice chat on the way to the hotel. When we arrived, we both grabbed our luggage and wished each other well. The gentleman checked in at the desk and went on his way. I went to check in and the clerk behind the counter asked, "Did you have an interesting van ride?" I said, "Yes, it was nice."
"The gentleman you assisted owns the hotel," said the clerk, "and he would like to repay your kindness by upgrading your room and providing free room service." Wow! So, here's the lesson: You never know who you will meet. We should always be kind to those around us. It makes all of us happier and sometimes can even come with a reward.
Special thanks to that mystery man. My stay in Chicago was awesome! Here are a few pictures worth sharing.
