"Learn to Return” was the last and one of the most important aspects of the PolarTREC training in Fairbanks, AK. The teachers were taught some first aid basics and emergency survival skills for cold weather.

Tuck Brouhard, our "Learn to Return” instructor, led us through the basics of first aid, taught us to make emergency survival boots, and demonstrated the many uses of trash bags in emergency survival situations.

After a week of anticipation and disappointment, some of the PolarTREC teachers got a glimpse of the Northern Lights before leaving for the airport about 10:00 p.m.
This glimpse of the Aurora Borealis was the perfect end to the week-long PolarTREC training experience.
