"Learn to Return” was the last and one of the most important aspects of the PolarTREC training in Fairbanks, AK. The teachers were taught some first aid basics and emergency survival skills for cold weather.

Photo courtesy of Gerti Ward.After a week of anticipation and disappointment, some of the PolarTREC teachers got a glimpse of the Northern Lights before leaving for the airport about 10:00 p.m.
This glimpse of the Aurora Borealis was the perfect end to the week-long PolarTREC training experience.
