Journal Entry

It takes a team to build a submersible.

It takes a lot of people to build a submersible. Here are some of the people that have been busy working on SCINI. If you read the short descriptions of each person carefully, it will help you on the quizzes that come in future journal entries!

The chief engineer of SCINI is Bob Zook. He calls himself the chief "gizmologist" because he is most happy when he is working with the "gizmos" that make SCINI work. He has been breaking things (and building things!) since he was a little tyke.

Bryan is an undergraduate student that is a whiz-kid with computers. He is helping to write the software that will make SCINI run underwater. He also likes to build things!

Nick Huerta is a talented machininst. Here he is trying to take apart a waterproof section of SCINI. He must have machined it very carefully because it is sealing very tight!

BLee Williams (left) and Marcus Kolb (right) both have a lot of experience with submersibles. They flew to California all the way from the East coast to help with SCINI!

BLee and Marcus help Bob put SCINI together again.

And now SCINI is all together!

Stay tuned: The next journal entry takes you underwater!
