Someone asked about the Oden and the channel it is making. I took this picture yesterday 1-15-08 (local time) from the Twin Otter. You can see how they are widening the channel near McMurdo, which is just to the right of the wide part of the channel.

As I mentioned during the webinar Shelley and Jonathan were headed to the South Pole today. They just walked back in. They left here for the Pegasus airstrip 3.5 hours ago, rode the shuttle out, boarded the plane, they sat there for awhile then the flight was canceled and the 45 minute shuttle ride brought them back. They are scheduled to do it all again this afternoon at 5:30
