*There is unrest in the forest, There is trouble with the trees, For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas.
So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights. "The oaks are just too greedy; We will make them give us light." Now there's no more oak oppression, For they passed a noble law, And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe, and saw.

Introducing the Germinators!
There will be ~ 18 St. Mark Catholic School students **participating in a little project. We will be **germinating Alfalfa seeds outside for a 10-day period. I will be germinating mine here in the Arctic and they will germinate theirs from Florida or where ever they will be on vacation. We will start on Thursday June 26, 2008.
Meet the St. Mark Catholic School GerminatorsStudents will be using the Ask the Team section to give updates. They will also be sending me photos periodically and I will post them.
The Germinators are a group of future 8th graders who will be participating in The Alfalfa Germination project. They will be adding data to the Ask the Team section on my website.Very exciting. I am happy to have such **eager students willing and desiring **to work/have fun with this project over the summer.
Initially we wanted to try to germinate Sunflower seeds, but my FIU team didn’t think that Sunflowers would germinate all the way up here.
and they said it couldn't be done. This was put out 3 days ago. I hope it will not freeze!Surprise it worked!!! I started them on Saturday, June 21rst and got my first little sprout yesterday. Today I have 3 sprouting, but it is cold today, so I hope they don’t freeze.
Either way we are still going with the Alfalfa seeds, but don't be surpised if I get sunflowers to bloom!
KissI have attached the lab for those interested.
