Journal Entry

Here I am in Seattle (well, SeaTac to be exact) waiting for tomorrow (April 9th) to come so that I can take off on my adventure!  I decided to stay at a hotel for the night so that I wouldn't have to be caught up in the rush of travel down to the airport tomorrow morning.  Hopefully I can get a good nights sleep here with the planes zooming overhead.

My husband very nicely (with only a few grumbles...) drove me down to the hotel.  With all the hustle and bustle of the past few weeks, I haven't really had time to sit down and think about the fact that I'm going to be away from all that is familiar to me for 5 weeks!  It's still hard to believe even right now...I'm sure it won't really sink in until I'm actually on the ship and we're sailing away from the dock.  I did get to spend Easter with my family in Bellingham, which was lovely, and then said good bye to all the animals at home (I think my kitties knew I was leaving and were slightly mad at me...) and jumped in the car to head to Seattle.  Since arriving in my hotel room I've barely had a minute to sit back and relax, my phone has been ringing off the hook with all my family calling to say bon voyage!  It's nice to know that they love me and are thinking about me as I set off on my adventure! Here are a couple pics of who I left behind (my photo's aren't all uploading, so I'm only posting the ones that worked)

I know everyone is eager to hear how things go, so I will try and keep this as up to date as possible.  I have no idea what it will be like once we're on the water, so I apologize if I'm a day behind or so...I know I'll be busy, and I hope the time will fly by!!  As my advisor, David, said when we first started talking about the trip...the first 10 days you'll learn A LOT, the next 10 you'll get REALLY good at what you learned, and the last 10 you'll be like "GET ME OFF THIS SHIP!!"

Well...it may not be EXACTLY like that, but we'll see!  I'm sure I'll be a pro by the time I'm done!
