Journal Entry
Eye'm watching you! This was my artsy entry. Like I said, when you're stuck inside, you can get pretty creative.
Just because we are at the end of the earth doesn't mean we don't go to art shows. The station had an art show and there were some pretty impressive entries from everyone down here. You know that I entered my raw ART video...along with a couple photos I've taken. There is no shortage of spectacular scenery and photo ops down here - from micro to macro, there were some great shots. And some nice art pieces as well. The entries below are just a small taste of what was on display. My apologies to the majority of artists not represented here. I only had room for a few. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did...
This was a really clever entry by Mark Eisinger - one of the guys working on station. These beautiful pressings of red and brown algae were created by Maggie Amsler. This great photo of the backyard was taken by Lisa Crockett. This was a really cool design on wood - half humpback whale, half ARSV Laurence M. Gould (the research ship down here). This was created by Jon Charczuk, who also organized the art show. Here is a partial view of the galley turned gallery.
