Street Named for the Stars

I will now be living and working just outside the boundary of Denali National Park, just outside of a really small village called Healy. The streets are named for the stars, so I will be living in the heavens! Regulus and Antares will be my home and place of work. I even have a coffee house on my way to work!

I am un-packed and settled into my lovely cabin, and ready to work! Tonight, the research team will return from Fairbanks after picking up Marguerite, my research scientist, from the airport. Tomorrow, I will begin my research assignment!

Why Healy?

One of the people I met along my travels, a native Alaskan, asked why this Healy location was chosen for the carbon balance research that I will be helping with. This is a great question and I will be sure to get the full answer for you tomorrow.

I think that is some of the most luxurious field crew housing I have ever seen. Livin' the Alaskan life!
