The orientation is going fantastically! We are all having fun talking and sharing information about ourselves and our families and friends. There are many parts of the country represented by all of the teachers and alumni, as well as a variety of backgrounds, interests, and talents. As it turns out there are several of us who like to run. So we have gotten together over a couple of frosty mornings and taken a short, and sometimes slippery, jaunt around the town.

John, Mark, and Susy We were all pretty happy with ourselves

Running is great because it not only gives you some exercise, and a small look around town, but it also provides us with the time and the setting that can be used to talk and share in a very informal way. Mark Goldner has come out for a run on two occasions and this morning Susy Ellison joined us.

Susy and Mark sharing a runSusy came out with us and really enjoyed herself. Training for BostonMark is excited about running his first marathon ever, in Boston.

It was a little dark at first and a bit cool, but we soon got underway and found that the streetlights provided adequate lighting, and it did tend to warm up after we got moving. We followed the main street next to our hotel down to First Avenue and made a left turn towards the river.

As expected, we had some good laughs, shared some good stories about our friends and families, and ended up a bit closer and more comfortable with the new friendships that we are now forming. Yes, and we did get some exercise!
