The first thing I can say about Spotlight is that he never stops moving! From the moment he came flying out of the gate Spotlight was moving, and moving fast.
Spotilght has a lot of energy. He is always on the move!Spotlight is one of the older dogs living here. He is almost 11 years old and still going strong. As it turns out he still has so much energy that he is one of the top lead dogs on the sled teams. But along with his energy he is very smart and has been a lead dog for most of his life. Being a good lead dog not only means that you are strong and have good endurance, but also that you understand your responsibility on the sled. Good lead dogs know what directions to take and know how to keep a steady pull on the sled. They also don't get too distracted by animals they come across.
Spotligh has been a lead dog most of his life.Spotlight was born much further north from here in the Brooks Range of Alaska. He was from a litter that wasn't really planned, but most of his bothers and sisters have also worked out to be good sled dogs.
Spotlight was moving all the time while we were on our walk.Spotlight was also bred with Jade, and as I mentioned last week, all of their puppies are here and working on sled teams. You will be meeting some of those puppies in the next couple of weeks.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!!
