Journal Entry

This morning, I said goodbye to Dr. Mark Salvatore and his crew at Lake Fryxell. I hopped on an A-Star helicopter and made a beautiful 20-minute flight up higher into Taylor Valley. I passed Lake Hoare and many other frozen lakes and ponds, several massive glaciers, and landed at Lake Bonney. I will be working with divers here at Lake Bonney. They are studying microbes discovered in this icy underwater wonderland. Cyanobacteria are their main species of interest. Today was a day of setting up camp, helping with a few chores, and preparing for a full day of diving tomorrow.

Notice: This journal will be super short due to the internet going down out here in the Dry Valleys for a full day. See tomorrow for more details. I also have about 3 movies to put up, but the internet is too slow to load those now. Watch for those in the future.
