Last day/night in Barrow
Thank you, Anne Garland, for your help and guidance and teaching in this project. I’ve learned SO much from you in regards to risk management and especially the importance of networking.
It’s late and it’s been a loooooooooong day – not to mention a long 2 weeks ☺ I’m just going to let the photos do the talking here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Whale flippers at Nalukataq. Distributing food at Nalukataq -- that's what this celebration is all about. No one has more fun here than the kids. They first distributed the cut-up whale flipper. It was SO foggy today that anything more than 100 feet away was silhouetted. Saying my final goodbyes to the ice. The cloud lifted and WOW. Look what was above us all day -- Beautiful skies! Glenn Sheehan drove us out to Point Barrow where we saw flock after flock of migrating birds -- these are ducks pictured here. A silhoutted view of a man being tossed during Nalukataq -- the blanket toss. The blanket toss from an ant's view. Haha, I love this photo. We got a little crazy tonight and took the Polar Plunge! David is pictured here in the front with me in the background running into the Arctic Ocean. I didn't realize it until afterwards, but I've officially been in every ocean, now!
