I am heading back to Antarctica! Today I will get on a plane in Seattle and head to New Zealand- marking the beginning of the long journey to the icy Antarctic continent. The first 2.5 hour flight will take me from Seattle to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, I will get on an Airbus and fly to Auckland, New Zealand. That only takes 13.5 hours. From Auckland, I will catch one more flight (1.5 hours) to Christchurch, New Zealand. Whew, I am going to be tired! Once in Christchurch, I will have some time to relax before my “ice flight” on November 19th, when our crew is scheduled to fly to McMurdo Station, Antarctica (another 5 hour flight). Check out the video to see my travel route from Seattle to McMurdo Station. Wish me luck!
