We won't be winning any Oscars for this one, but we are making an appearance on Wisconsin Public Television! Last Friday we met with Zac Schultz from WPT to learn what he wants to do with our story. It turns out that they want to feature us on their "Wisconsin Life" program. Each episode of "Wisconsin Life" lasts a few minutes and shares the story of a person living in Wisconsin who does something unique. Traveling to Antarctica seems to be unique enough for them, so we'll get to be featured on their show after we return!

The episode will consist mostly of the videos and photos we'll take during the trip. I think that's an awesome way to go - it will allow people to see exactly where we were and what it was like. However, I got a little nervous as Zac was talking to us. It seemed like they would need so much video footage from us, and I was worried that I would be focusing more on my camera than on Antarctica itself. Don't get me wrong; I'll definitely take pictures of penguins. I just don't want to be stressing about getting all the perfect shots for the TV program.

Fortunately, two things relieved the pressure I was feeling. The first came from Zac, our guest from WPT. He agreed that we shouldn't focus too much on taking videos, which was very comforting to hear. He advised us to take just a few pictures when we enter a new scene before putting the camera away and enjoying the experience.

The second source of relief came from Juan. Juan sees the world through his camera, and he laughingly reassured us that he will return from the trip with videos of everything and then some. This means that I'll feel less pressure to take pictures constantly, leaving me free to enjoy the trip. Knowing this, I am once again excited for this opportunity with WPT!
