This entry profiles the two students representing the high school in Qaqortoq.
Ivik Johansen is a student at Qaqortoq School. My name is Ivik Hans Christian Wæver Johansen. I am very interested in science and saving the world. Because even I in my young age have noticed the dramatically decreasing amount of snow we get every season. And I want to make sure that my future grandchildren will have the opportunity to feel the best feeling in the world; Riding down a mountain side on your snowboard, floating up and down on the deep powder snow, listening to the ice crystals that you ride above, that is a huge motivation of mine towards studying science and going to summer school in Kangerlussuaq.
English is my third language, and I certainly feel that I am able to communicate well in both speech and writing, although I am not completely fluent-speaking yet. I gladly accept any kind of challenge that people throw at me, and only see it as motivation.
Erneeraq Lynge is a student in the high school at Qaqortoq.
Hi My name is Erneeraq ’Ernie’ Søren Brandt Lynge. My ambitions are to become a Biochemist. I have studied a little about mushrooms and the brain which fascinates me a lot. Chemistry has always been a big fascination for me since I was little. It’s incredible that two of the most flammable elements Hydrogen and oxygen mixed are the best flame extinguisher, and if you combine Nitrogen, Oxygen, Hydrogen and Carbon you can have neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, or one of many transmitters that are essential for brain function.
I have always been interested for science since I was a child, since I have thirsted for more knowledge, and I really feel that my future is in science and that KSFS and SEW will expand my knowledge of research and development. Last but not least I hope I can make some friends that are equally into science as I am.
