I have had experiences on this training session that I never anticipated would be part of my life. I caught the ending of the Yukon Quest dog race. Now I can say, "been there, done that, got that t-shirt." We stood in the cold - actually, I walked around a great deal, and even stopped in the local coffee shop for a bit - for a little over an hour waiting for the winner to come around the bend in the river. I had on my borrowed boots, and my toes were cold! When we went back to the hotel, I put on warmer socks, and was fine the rest of the day.

We were part of the famous Alaska hospitality from the ARCUS team at lunch today. With all the work they have already put into making this training experience an enjoyable one, they took the time to make all of us lunch. It was delicious - yes, I had double dessert.
