Wow, what a day! What a very brisk morning!
Yesterday's ThermometerI think this morning I was still a little out of it and walked downstairs just to get something to eat into my system. It was pretty overwhelming at first meeting everyone, but I think it was much better since everyone was on the same page. I really enjoyed Heidi’s talk since it came from the researcher’s perspective. I think we could have beat the pulp out of the teacher’s experiences, but I think the researcher’s experience is relevant as well. However, she did mention that you have to stay hydrated, which I do. But I am kind of nervous because I do get nose bleeds if it is too dry. Maybe I’ll have to get a humidifier. The 1st ice breaker was pretty good and got us up moving around. I think it was good because no one really knew anyone yet and forced us to talk to each other. Lunch was great. I really have to force myself out of my comfort zone when it comes to food, so I just had to try the reindeer stew.
Reindeer StewI took a picture of it and sent it to a bunch of people on my cell. The stew was actually really good and tasted like beef, but just a little richer. The 2nd icebreaker was really interesting and I really enjoyed trying to figure out who brought what object. It was like detective work. I really enjoyed the alumni teacher presentations as it gave me some ideas to do when I have my experience. One of the alumni teachers actually did her experience in Barrow so it was really interesting to talk to her and to see what my experience will be like up there. She even showed a picture of the pool there! I wonder if they have a swim team?!?
