Meeting a Microbiologist!

The title of this research project, "Microbialites of Lake Joyce Antarctica", brings to mind a lot of questions: What is a microbialite? What do we hope to learn by studying them?

To help my students and I better understand the nature of this research, I invited UCDavis microbiology graduate student Megan Krusor, to be a guest speaker for my classes a couple of weeks ago. It was exciting for me to introduce her to my students. Megan showed us how she's using genetics to understand the microbial communities and why we study them to learn about possibilities of life on other planets. I'd like you to have the opportunity to learn from her too, so I've made this movie of her presentation for you!

It was about time someone employed the technological innovation to manufacture a silent mouse. These operate on the LED light emitted by the mouse on a surface and
detect motion of the laptop or computer mouse.

I managed to do this on a Vista/Windows 7 technique. Some even function a 5-yr guarantee, which is rather unusual with other branded items. This kind
is great for men and women who hate the strategy of killing mice.

If you're like other common gamers, your desk leading could possibly be a mess full of wires and gears.Inform them that clicking on the x closes a screen down.
If you favor a cleaner desk, wireless is the way to go.

Love that you are getting students (and yourself) excited about microbes! The microbial mat footage is pretty incredible, thanks for sharing.
