Stories from the Rocks

Today, we continued to explore the formations of well-preserved carbonates that tell story after story of what early Earth was like. We visited the Carrara formation, which was deposited after the Snowball Earth events that I mentioned in the last journal. These rocks help shed light on conditions needed for life to thrive, and may help us find life on other planets, eventually. Here's what we found:

I found this video very interesting it was nice to learn about why the rock was shaped like how it is now. I thought that it was explained very well and it was thought out. It was cool to see the different textures in the rocks. i learned a lot from this video!
