Journal Entry

Today’s Journal

Today I started day one of my two-day journey to Toolik Field Station. I left rainy Boulder, CO at 4:30am for a full day of flights up to Fairbanks. It was a beautiful day and mostly clear, so I was able to see several mountain ranges along the way. My flights went smoothly from Denver to Seattle to Anchorage and finally to Fairbanks. I couldn’t resist capturing some of the incredible mountains along the way and wanted to share them.

Question to Ponder

This photo was taken while I was flying from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Which slopes are north facing and which are south facing? Which direction was I flying- from left to right of the photo OR right to left? How do you know?
