Snow, Snow and more Snow!
I have been watching it snow in Fairbanks for the last 26 hours! Here is a picture of how much snow we have received in the parking lot. The people in Fairbanks are glad to have the snow since they have been below their normal amount. It sounds like Tucson, where we are behind in rainfall.
I'm glad they cleared the sidewalkPolarTREC training is off to a great start. We have eleven new teachers from all over the country. Their expeditions are going to take six of those teachers to Antarctica. Three teachers will be heading to Alaska, with one teacher working in Barrow, AK this summer. Two more teachers will be heading to the Arctic. One will have an expedition in Svalbard, Norway and the other will be in Greenland.
This year at school we have many students named Bailey. In our teacher training class we have 3 teachers named Mike and all of their last names start with the letter L. It's been great to see my fellow teacher friends from 2009, Tim Martin and Gary Wesche. Also a researcher who we met in 2009, Heidi Roop, has joined us after only being home for one week from Antarctica!

Stay Tuned!
