9 August 2018 Wildflowers 101

The Hills are Alive

When talking to people about my upcoming trip to Switzerland, many of them mentioned the beautiful wildflowers. This was something that was not really on my radar, but once I got here, WOW, they really don’t disappoint.

Not only are they everywhere, but there are countless varieties and colors hidden amongst every nook and crag in the rocks. Bright purples, yellows, and reds, and soft white and pinks are just some of the colors I have seen so far.

I tried to take pictures everytime I saw something different, but I know I missed many. And I still have yet to see the crown jewel of the Swiss Alps wildflowers, Edelweiss. But stay tuned. I will report back once I find it!

I spent some time browsing the internet to try to ID the pictures I have taken so far. I “think” I was able to identify many of them, but I am not a botanist. Any of my botany readers or friends, please feel free to correct me.
