Journal Entry

View from Above

The weather has been good and we were ahead of schedule, so we decided to take a morning off to take a gondola ride up the Eggishorn Mountain. From there we would be able to see some amazing views of the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in Europe.

It took two gondola rides to bring us to the top of the mountain and we were greeted with breathtaking views of the glacier and surrounding mountains. You can see for yourself. Check out some of the video I took from the top of Eggishorn Mountain.

Hiking is hard work. We all take breaks lounging on the rocks when we can.

Glacier Flags

Room 200 at The Phoenix Center in Nutley, NJ created today’s flag. Great job guys! We all loved your drawings of the various Arctic animals.

Imagine how thick the glacier was not long ago. Just looking at the eroded sides of the valley gives a good picture of what has already been lost. Thanks for sharing the lovely video.
