Post the Video to your Journal Anyway
As promised, here is my first attempt at making a video. I have much to learn about this process, but after much trial and error, I am happy to say that my first official PolarTREC video is complete. I found this process to be similar to the struggles and frustrations that scientists may experience in the field. Equipment breaks (or freezes), technology changes and scientists are constantly challenged to trouble shoot these problems and learn how to use new tools and techniques while in the field. Learning how to make a video may not seem related to the challenges that polar scientists face, but, in my opinion, the processes are certainly the same. Asking questions, making predictions, experimenting, collecting data and reevaluating outcomes is an everyday occurrence in research....and it was certainly what I was required to do to make this video. Enjoy!
NOTE: Due to limited internet access on the ship, real-time videos from my expedition may not be available while I am out at sea. So, I will do my best to use videos and other media to share information before and after my trip.
