Journal Entry

Tonight's homework assignment is to post a new journal entry of my choice. I have been sitting in front of a blank screen for over 30 minutes trying to figure out just exactly what "my choice" should be and have come to the conclusion that my journal entries should also include "your choice", the reader.

What topics would you like me to include in my journal? What questions do you have for me? Please comment on this post at any point of time.

What did you have to do to adjust to your environment and surroundings? Was there anything specific and anything that you had to do on a daily?

Hi Julie,Fairbanks was so cold, though it was a lot warmer than Antarctica will be. I always had a hat and gloves on when I went outside. If I was staying inside I just wore regular clothes, but at lunch everyday we would go outside to explore the beautiful area. After I ate I would always go put on a layer of thermal underwear and a second pair of socks. I got much quicker at changing as the week went on. I also kept the layers on then until I was getting ready for bed, because in the afternoon we would leave and spend more time outside. I thought I would overheat with the extra layers on sitting inside, but I never got too hot.

The hardest thing was adjusting to the 4 hour time change, I tried so hard to stay up to about 10pm local time before I fell to sleep. With working hard all day though that was really tough.

Every day we started with breakfast they had really great blueberries! At lunch we usually had salmon, there are a lot of salmon in Alaska. Then we tried to go to dinner as a group, we wanted to spend as much time with our new friends as possible. We also had homework every night :)
