Attention Teachers and Families – Join the ‘Passport to Antarctica’ program!

Since the summer scavenger hunt series was so successful, I was inspired to create a similar program for the new school year. So, I’m pleased to introduce you to the ‘Passport to Antarctica’ program and look forward to your participation.

Here’s how it will work.

Each month (at least twice – but hopefully weekly) from now through mid-December, 2011, I’ll be blogging. During these blogs, there will be a variety of things for you to do and, I’ve planned some pretty interesting activities. Here’s a ‘sneak peek’ at what you might see in the coming months.

Personal Posts

These blogs will be about what I’m doing to prepare for my journey to Antarctica and some of the people I’ve met along the way.

‘Polar Point’ challenges

These are definitely going to be my favorite blogs and will include a number of challenges and opportunities for YOU to participate in and earn ‘Polar Points’. Points will be awarded for each challenge and the point system will be announced with each blog. I encourage you to participate often because fun, educational prizes will be awarded!

Keep an eye out during the coming months for the following blogs:

  • Antarctica R.A.W – This is ‘top secret’ for now but you won’t have to wait too long to find out because I will explain this in my next blog – scheduled for the week of September 12.

  • Photo Contests – The ‘What is it?’ photos were so popular this summer –we’re bringing them back. I may also include some ‘What’s wrong with this picture?’ or ‘Explain this picture’ challenges.

  • Decoration Challenges – This is ‘top secret’ for now – but these challenges will happen in October and December. Got any ideas as to what this might be?

So, are you ready for the first challenge?

Take a peek at - What is it? Photo #2. If you didn’t get a chance to see the first ‘What is it?’ photo, look at the May 13 blog.

  • 5 points for a correct guess
