Decorating Challenge
I thoroughly enjoy this time of year – when the temperatures drop and there are lights and decorations galore! With my upcoming expedition only about one month away, I can’t help but notice how many things remind me of the Polar Regions. Yesterday I spent the day driving through beautifully decorated neighborhood and noticed:
Snowflakes hanging from windows
Icicle lights that adorn rooftops
Reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh
Polar Bears prancing in a snowy carousel
Penguins bundled in warm hats and scarfs
So, this has inspired my last challenge. Are you decorating for the holiday in an Arctic or Antarctic fashion? Perhaps your:
Home – inside or out
Classroom
Tree
Tabletop
Do you have any other areas in mind?
The Pink Palace is getting into the holiday spirit. We hope you join us! And, YES this is an upside down Christmas Tree!If so I would love to hear about it… and if you have pictures you would like to share – that would be even better.
Let’s get in the Antarctic spirit!
Don’t forget the Polar Points
If you are keeping track of your ‘Polar Points’ – here’s how the points will work for this challenge.
10 point per decorated area
10 points for e-mailing me a picture!
Please note – You do not need to submit a picture to win. An e-mail with the participants name and decoration will be sufficient. (I.e. Desiree – decorated a holiday tree with penguins)
But, I’d love to see your pictures… So if a picture is submitted – it may be posted in a future journal. If you do not wish for your picture to be posted – please indicate that on your entry.
Remember to include the following:
Participants name and what was decorated
E-mail
School and grade level (if applicable)
Submit your answer to Alex at alice.eilers [at] memphistn.gov or aeilers [at] polartrec.com
This challenge closes in a month or so… let’s get creative!
Good Luck!
