Learning the Lingo
Learning the Lingo is almost like learning another language. There are new terms, nicknames, abbreviations and acronyms for nearly everything I'm experiencing. But I'm catching on fast. Just in case you are not familiar with an acronym - it's a 'word' that is formed from the first initial of several words - like LOL - Laugh out loud it could also be initials or parts of other words.
Can you figure out what I'm trying to say with the bold 'words'? Give it a try!
Good new!
Elaine with RPSC e-mailed me to let me know I've been PQ'ed. Yea!! Now I am an official participant of the USAP and will join my PI's, GA'sand other OAE's on a scientific mission to study Wed's.
One of my first official stops will be at the CDC in Chch (cheech) where I will be issued my ECW (which includes Big Red and Bunny Boots). Our team will deploy from the CDC on a C-17, around 0400 and will arrive on the Ice around 1400 - that is if we don't boomerang.
If the weather holds, our plan is to land at Pegasus then ride the Ivan to Mactown.
I am so thankful to the NSF and the OPP for providing me with this amazing the opportunity!
All the best,
Ms. Alex
What in the world am I talking about? Can you figure it out?
