9 September 2018 Heading South (in pictures)

Christina and I have been working very hard over the last couple weeks visiting the ABoVE and VIPER sites – meaning we have time to do the "extra" sites on our list. These sites are further south and will make our remaining days jammed packed with not much time to sleep – but it means we get to see Anchorage!

Decision made: we just had to head South.

Sunrise - Yup, that means we were on the road around 6AM. Mountains. More mountains. Best sideview mirror view ever. More more mountains. More more more mountains. Close-up mountain. Mountains with spruce trees. First view of a glacier. View from our brunch stop at the Meier Lake Roadhouse. I recommend the biscuits & gravy. In addition to food, they also had an awesome local Alaska museum. More more more more mountains. Getting closer to glaciers! Changing fall colors. Mountains, glaciers, and fall leaves. We did drive down closer – but didn't have time to hike. Arrival with an Anchorage sunset.
