A Castle in Mexico City?
Field trip excursion number two...we were hosted by Carlos Herrera and his daughter Reni! We visited Chapultepec Castle. This castle is located at the top of Chapultepec Hill (which the kids had to walk up!!) and is the only castle in North America to house royalty! The castle was contructed in 1775 and it was a wonderful opportunity to see some Mexican history. I have visted castles in Europe and this castle was very similar...beautiful paintings, ojects, artwork, furniture and gardens! An interesting fact is that this castle ws used in the 1996 movie, Romeo and Juliet starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes! I am going to have to re-watch that movie!!

After touring the castle, we had a little time for some streetside shopping and a picnic lunch in the park. We even got to feed some ducklings!
