First stop today was the Dolores Olmedo Museum.  Mrs. Olmedo was an avid collector of art and Mexican artifacts.

The gardens were beautiful and the students were in love with the peacocks and hairless Mexican dogs.

Xomichilco is one of 16 borroughs in Mexico City. It is referred to as "The Venitian Mexico" because of it's extensive series of canals. We took a ride in a trajinera...a boat that has a man with a long pole who pushes the boat throughout the canals. He is called a trajinero. It was so cool because other boats came up to our colorfully decorated boat selling candy apples, toys, jewelry, blankets and other items. Adrian and his mother were our hosts for the trip today. Adrian's mom ordered quesidillas and the boat actually connected to our boat! We had our lunch on the canals. The students said it was their favorite day in Mexico so far!

After the boat ride, the students got their first opportunity to shop!

After we said our goodbyes, Megan and I had dinner at Adrian's house. It was a wonderful Mexican meal!
