Hi Michael!
I'm Janine, one of Nell Herrmann's students as well as a member of our high school's National Ocean Sciences Bowl team - biology specialty. I've seen some of your pictures of Weddel seals and was wondering if you had encountered any of the other Antarctic seal species while diving or in your general travels. Obviously, large ice sheets aren't terribly hospitable for seals that are much more agile in water, but maybe you've seen other seals in more open water? Also, the Weddels seem to be rather curious, coming to your dive holes to check you out - do they interact with you when you're diving or do they tend to shy away from people in the water?
It's been exciting following your postings especially all the photos of marine invertebrates, keep them coming!
