To Whom It May Concern:
I'm a teacher in Boston looking for examples of biological adaptations near volcanoes, specifically in Hawaii. While conducting a search, I came across your site. While it's clear that your research is in the poles, I'm wondering if you could direct me to research on adaptations in Hawaii. Are you aware of any specific organisms in Hawaii that exhibit structural or physiological adaptations to their volcanic environment? I'm finding much information about such things in other geographical locations and with undersea volcanoes, but nothing local to Hawaii. I thought this was surprising, but I'm not an expert. I would be grateful for any advice or enlightenment that you could offer.
