Hi Michael my name is Angela from St. Mark Catholic School and I have question. Do you ever get scared going down into the freezing cold water? Is it really worth all of that work to do such cool things and see such cool animals?

Hi Angela,I was a little nervous going down the first time here in Antarctica, but
now I am on Dive #16 and things are really starting to feel comfortable.
As for the amount of work, I have to admit that it is a bit of work to
go diving under the ice. You need several hours to make a hole, then an
hour to get ready, an hour to drive to the dive site, and then have to
get all that gear on. All that being said, I believe that every dive
here in Antarctica is worth it. There are six divers here and we all
feel the same. There isn't a time where we come back and say that
wasn't really worth it. What you see is amazing.
I am getting some more underwater pictures ready for the journal, so
keep watching. You'll see what I mean.
Mike
P.S. Thanks for the great questions!
