Hi Megan,Good question! The marine worms can survive in these cold temperatures
because they have special features that allow them to not only survive,
but live very well in this frozen ocean. We call these special features
"adaptations". Keep reading the journals for more information about
adaptations.
As for getting back to Delaware, that's a bit of a process. First, I
fly in a C-17 (big cargo plane) from Antarctica to New Zealand. Then I
fly all the way across the Pacific Ocean from New Zealand to California.
Then I fly all the way across the USA to Philadelphia. Then, I drive
to Delaware.
I'll be back in November. So, keep working hard in Science class.
Mike
