Hi! My name is christopher.s from saint marks school.

What do marine worms look like and how did they survive when they used to dump trash on them?

Hey Christopher,Great questions! You can look at today's journal entry for a picture of
the marine worms that we're interested in studying. You can ready
today's journal by [clicking

How did they survive with all that trash being dumped on them? Believe
it or not, they like the trash. *Capitella* actually prefer disturbed
sediment and they especially like it when nutrients are dumped in the
water, like from food scraps. *Capitella* have special adaptations that
make them good at living in places like this. Pretty amazing, huh?
We'll look more at *Capitella* adaptations in future journals, so keep
on reading.
