Hello my name is Georgia and I am a student from St. Mark Catholic School. When you are on these trips, do you miss your family a lot and get home sick?

Georgia, Great point! Yes, it is very hard to be away from my family. But
there are a couple things to help get me through. First, technology is
an amazing way to stay in contact even when you're half a world away
(just like now, you're in the USA and I'm in Antarctica, but we can
still talk.) Right now, I am communicating with my family every few
days through email and phone, just like I did when I went to
Philadelphia, Massachusetts, and Chicago. The second thing is that we
are so busy. In Philadelphia and Chicago, I was working on becoming a
better teacher. In Massachusetts, I was SCUBA diving a lot to get ready
for Antarctica. On our way to Antarctica, we were busy traveling, then
getting our ECW gear, then getting to McMurdo Station. It seems like
there is always more to see, do, and learn. I hope that you'll follow
along with the journals and see everything that is keeping us so busy!
