who came up with the PolarTrec Program? Why did you Mark Buesing choose this specific topic to research about?

I am not sure who came up with PolarTREC but it has been going on for about 10 years.  You should encourage all your science teachers to apply to the program!

In the program the teachers are chosen by researchers who read our applications.  My understanding is that the researchers look at a variety of factors such as grade level, science course taught, and specific skill set of the teacher.
