Hey Mr. Mark! It's John Schueler and I was wondering whether the town you're staying in ever gets substantial snow. I figure being so close to the ocean, it must be all rain, but then again the location is so far north - just curious. Thanks.

Hey John!  It does get snow, not huge amounts, but they ski and dog sled and have to plow here.  It can get real cold here, too.  Well below zero for long stretches in the sunless and near-sunless winter.

However, for being this far north it's pretty mild due to warm ocean current keeping the SW part of Greenland warm-ish.  This part of GL is much different that the eastern part at the same latitude or even Baffin Island just across the Davis Strait from here.  Oceans are definitely the dominate means of transporting energy around.  Convection.  Physics!

Keep the questions coming.
