Hi Tim!

It's great to have you finally here in Alaska! I love the photos in your first journal and the fact that you know that there are 7 Thai food joints in Fairbanks! I hope you won't get too tired of Thai since we have to eat it tomorrow night for group dinner :)

Welcome to PolarTREC and we look forward to your journey with NASA in April.

Cheers, Janet

Thanks for the introduction to Aurora-Huntin'! When did you first get interested in Northern Lights?-Wendy

Wendy,
You are welcome. Thank you for joining the group and being adding to the aurora hunting experience! I guess I've always just loved to look up and out at the amazing universe we are such an integral part of, and the aurora are a very magical phenomena of that Universe (or perhaps what some speculate ... the multiverse) Hope you made it to Google in time to get your kids their computers!
Looking forward to working with you! Tim

Thanks Janet! This has been an incredible experience already. Hillary and I were just discussing how great it is to have all this support as we venture out into the field. As teachers we are not used to having all of this support (web, travel, clothing, lodging, technology, etc.) in place as we go out into the field, and I must say it is an incredibly positive experience. All of this support infrastructure really allows us to focus on the "job" ahead. Makes me wonder how much education could be improved if teachers had adequate support in place so that they could focus on teaching and learning. Thanks ... and when it comes to Thai ... I'm not sure it's possible to have too much Thai :-) . - Tim
