Alaska Climate Variation

Hi Peggy!  I looked at your pictures and you look like you're having a great time.  Can't wait to hear more about your trip.  And I love seeing you with the little Huskie puppy.

I have a question though.  Is the temperature in Alaska influenced by El Nino?

Good to hear from you Terry. I'm not surprised you loved the Husky. If you came here I bet you would take one home.
Concerning the El Nino question: The science team says that since locations around the Pacific are connected, large scale climate features such as El Nino affect them all to some extent. The intesnity of an Aleutian Low and El Nino are interrelated, but the strength of the relationship varies. In Alaska, the Aleutian Low is a similar scale climate feature. The Aleutian Low controls the temperature and precipitation in winter months in Alaska.
