Mr. Gillette have you seen any penguins yet

Sorry Jared, no animals yet.  The problem is that most of the animals need water.  At this time of year the sea ice has not broken up this close to land, and until that happens, or until we got out towards the edge of the sea ice, we probably won't see much of anything.  Bad timing I guess.  There is a very small chance that I may get out to Penguin Ranch this weekend, on Sunday.  Problem becomes that we're supposed to leave for the field on Saturday.  The small chance comes if our flight out is delayed until Monday, which at this point does look like a possibility.Cheers,~Gillette
