Hello, I'm a high school student at Cass Career Center. Soon Maurice Smith will be making a trip to the Antarctic, on a self-funded expedition (creating a little contest between schools for those of us left behind). This has sparked some minor interest in Antarctica for this class. I was tasked with coming up with a few questions. I was wondering what you have found in the ice? Is it mostly pure water? Or are traces of other substances found? And if so what is often found in the ice? I was also wondering if any fossils or frozen remains of prehistoric flora and fauna are ever found locked in the ice? I was just wondering about what might be hidden under all that ice. Hopefully my class will find a later opportunity to ask you more questions. Maurice says Hello.
