Hello! It's cold over here. But, it's probably as cold as where you are. but, you’d be crazy not to like the cold. I mean, I can understand disliking wind. Not too many people favor wind, you know? It's the wind that makes people dislike the cold. If there weren't any wind, I bet more people would be in favor of the winter season.  It snowed yesterday. Of course, the students here all were peaking of a snow day-which there wasn't one. You spend Christmas in Antarctica, right? I hope you find comfort there with the rest of the people who are in Antarctica. I mean, I don't know your personal relationship with your parents, but it seems like most people spend Christmas with theirs. But, I suppose you don't even want to dwell on it too much. And, the next Christmas will be even that much sweeter!..Wow. I apologize about that. I hope you don’t find that depressing, which you probably won’t. but, just in case you do, don’t take it personally, which you probably won’t… Anyway..We hope you’re having a spectacular time in Antarctica. Keep warm!Sincerely,

Brady Heidrick, Krystalin Steffen, and Meghan Pitts.

Hi Brady, Krystalin and Meghan~Thank you for the note.  It is nice to just get an email saying hello without all the questions sometimes!  Breaks up the job a bit!  I usually do spend Christmas with the family but have been mentally preparing myself for several weeks now in order to miss it.  The hardest part was that for a few days I was thinking I might actually make it back.  Then the weather delayed some flights and our flight the field was pushed back three days, just enough to have me miss the last flight out before Christmas.  No worries though, I should still be back just before New Years.  It won't be too bad, there are a lot of other people here in the same boat so we all have a little something in common.  Good to hear from you all.  Hopefully you'll get a snow day in there before break.  If not, we'll get on after the first of the year, I can almost promise that!
Cheers,~Gillette
