It's a SNOW DAY!
Today I am home on our first snow day of the year, in the lake effect snow belt SE of Lake Ontario. I am watching the birds at the feeder outside my kitchen as the 1 foot of snow tries to pile up to 2 feet and I am reading everyone's journals from Antarctica.
Life just doesn't get better.
Ques #1. For all the teachers and scientists, what kind of weather does it take to cancel the work being done in Antarctica? I know it is springtime for you but considering where Brandon and Elke are going the weather can still be a controlling factor.
Ques #2. Does anyone think that our students know how much their teachers enjoy a snow day too?
...and as a gift to everyone at PolarTREC, I invite you to the movies. My students and I just posted our latest video podcast of our expedition to explore a meromictic lake near Syracuse. We used our underwater video camera and the students explained the weird chemistry of the lake. It is a 9.5 min video and it takes a few moments to download but is fun. It even has a "pirate" theme. http://170.158.133.52:8080/weblog/jpeneston/
