Hi there! Elijah Malone here. Just wondering if you were going to visit any of the Antartic Mountains? And if you do can you tell me the names of some of those mountains?

I am hoping to make it to some mountains on my way back home while staying in McMurdo, though nothing is for certain.  We have not been to any mountains, though from McMurdo you can see quite a few since we're located just north of the Transantarctic Mountains.  There is a whole range visible from town called the Royal Society Range this is quite impressive.  We have also had some pretty good looks at Mt. Erebus and Mt. Terror.  Across the sea ice is Mt. Morning and Mt. Discovery.  All very impressive.  There should be a few pictures in the photo gallery.~Gillette
