Hey Cameo,

This is Flagstaff, we voted and think S.A.R.A. should strive for both power and manuverability.  We loved the Dora joystick.

We loved your safety eye wear, and we realized we forgot when we made our sediment trap.   Hey, can you tell us where you got your design for the ROV?

Hi Flagstaff -
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I have been camping since Wednesday morning with my students.  We had a great time.
Thank you for your input about our dilemma.  I definitely hope that we manage to get both power and maneuverability.  We are hoping to put S.A.R.A. in the water (actually a kiddie pool), by Friday, October 24th and then take her to a local river on Wednesday, October 29th.  I'll keep you all posted.
We got the basic design for our ROV from a book that all of the internet sites recommended.  The book is Build Your Own Underwater Robot and Other Wet Projects by Harry Bohm and Vickie Jensen.  It has two designs for building a ROV.  We used the one for the "Seafox".  It says it is for upper elementary and middle school students but it is hard (at least my teaching partner and I think it is).  Another teacher, Robin Ellwood, and her students bought a kit.  Their ROV is ScoobyDoobyDoo.  Robin told me that her students are going to build a new and better ROV in the spring.
Talk to all of you in Flagstaff soon and thanks for writing to me.  It was so nice to come home and get your e-mail.

Cameo :)
