Has anyone ever fallen in the ice and been frozen in mcmurdo station or other places in Antartica?

Hi Matthew,We go through special training to help us recognize and avoid
dangerous crevasses and thin ice. It's called "Happy Camper School"
and Ms. Cross will be going to it in November, and I'm sure she'll
have some good stories. Every once in a while someone will fall in;
the most recent one at McMurdo was 2 years ago and luckily no one was
hurt. Unfortunately, there have been times when people have died from
falling through a crevasse or thin ice. So we are very careful.
Best, Stacy

Hi Matt,
Safety is so very important in Antarctica, so before I can even leave McMurdo to go out in the field with my team, I HAVE TO go through an extreme cold weather survival training that is kiddingly referred to as "Happy Camper School". I'll be sure to try and take pictures and video footage to share with all. I've read about other people's experiences and am looking forward to completing the class SUCCESSFULLY so I can get out and see some of the continent! (Well..I'm sort of looking forward to it.)
