It must be freezing to dive in such cold waters! How long can you dive for at a time? Mrs. Hall

Hi Mrs. Hall,I personally am not the "warmest" diver in the program, so my limit is
about an hour. I have a strong mammalian dive response, which means
that when my face hits the water, blood shunts from my periphery
(hands and feet) to my core. So after an hour, my hands and feet are
so cold that they are more clubs than functional appendages. Other
divers, who have better circulation, can stay in for almost 2 hours!
But eventually everyone gets cold. It is so beautiful it is worth it
though.
Best, Stacy
