what is the hottest it has ever been in antartica?

Hi Maddie,
No one has aked that! Most people know how cold it is and focus on that. Temperatures have reached the 50's in the Antarctic Peninsula, and if I'm fortunate, I may see a couple of days hit 40 while there. I'm hoping so becauseĀ  the bathing suit is coming with me! LOL!
Do you remember those really, really cold below zero temperatures we had last January? (It lasted for a couple of weeks.) Well, believe it or not, it was warmer at McMurdo than it was here--by about 20 degrees!!
